Junior Ali Thompson (Franklin Furnace, OH) was named Mid-South Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
On the week, Thompson went 4-1 on the mound, including a no-hitter in a 1-0 win over West Virginia Tech on Sunday. She ended the week with a 0.78 ERA.
Thompson opened the season with a 1-0 loss to Cardinal Stritch. In the loss, she allowed three hits, two walks with nine strikeouts.
She rebounded with a 8-1 victory over Oakland City, allowing one run on three hits with five walks while striking out six.
On Wednesday, she earned a 1-0 victory against Evangel. In the game she allowed four hits, one walk while striking out 11.
Thompson rounded out the Spring Break trip with a 12-3 win over Illinois College, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits, three walks with 11 strikeouts.
In the Bears' home opener, Thompson recorded a perfect game retiring 21 batters and striking out a career-record 14.
