Freshman Allison Nagle propelled the Bears as she scored both Shawnee State goals in the Bears' 2-1 victory over Cincinnati Christian University on Tuesday afternoon. Shawnee State improves to 2-0 on the season, while the Eagles fall to 0-2.
Nagle got the Bears' on the board in the 25th minute of play on an assist by junior Staci Johnson. This gave the Bears' the 1-0 lead into the half.
Cincinnati Christian knotted the game at 1-1 in the 51st minute of play as Libby Mason scored unassisted. In the 61st minute, Johnson found Nagle again for a goal to give the Bears' the 2-0 win.
Freshman Emily Kuehn improves her record to 2-0 in goal. She allowed one goal and had eight saves.
CCU's Rebecca Duff tallied one save in goal.
Shawnee State got the win despite being outshot 9-3 in shots on goal in the game.
Shawnee State returns to action on Wednesday, September 7 as they travel to Mountain State for a non-conference contest. The game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
