Campbellsville's John Kennedy scored off a rebound at the 4:37 mark of overtime to give the Tigers the 4-3 victory and eliminated the Shawnee State Bears from the Mid-South Conference. The Tigers improve to 8-9-2 overall and advance to play the winner of No. 1 Lindsey Wilson or No. 8 Pikeville. Shawnee State finishes the season 9-9-1.
Shawnee State's freshman Joseph Webster got the Bears on the board first as he scored on an assist by senior Lenier Crawford in the 40th minute of the play. Webster's goal gave the Bears the 1-0 lead at the half.
The Tigers knotted the game in the 65th minute as Pontus Yngve found Jordan Adams for a goal. The Bears reclaimed the lead in the 67th minute as Crawford found junior Chad Johnston. Crawford scored again two minutes later on a throw in to the Bears' lead to 3-1. Campbellsville rallied back and cut the Bears' lead to 3-2 as Adams found Ramiro Sanchez for a goal. Tomas Arocha found the back of the net with 10 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime.
Campbellsville came out with intensity in overtime and accumulating three shots on goal. The Tigers captured the win as John Kennedy scored off of his own rebound in the game 95th minute.
Campbellsville out shot the Bears 11-7 in shots on goal.
SSU's Kevin Fischer recorded seven saves in the loss and finishes his career as the Bears all-time wins leader. CU's Kyle Thomas tallied four saves in the win.
