The Shawnee State Women's Soccer Team lost in their final home game of the season against Georgetown College. With the loss the Shawnee, falls to 10-6 for the season and 3-4 in the Mid-South Conference. Georgetown improves to 10-5-2 overall and 6-1 in the Mid-South.
The Bears opened the first half keeping stride with the Georgetown Tigers, but fell behind in the 17thminute of the game when Georgetown's Bea Cameron scored the first goal of the match. The Tigers' Becca Dietrich rebounded in the next minute scoring another goal to take the 2-0 lead. Shawnee State battled back, but it was Dietrich who struck again closing the first half with a 3-0 score.
Shawnee State came out in the second half putting up a strong defensive front. The Bears held Georgetown scoreless, and evenly distributed the possession through much of the half.
The Bears will return to action in the first round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Saturday, November 5that the University of The Cumberlands. Game time is to be announced.
