The Shawnee State Volleyball Team was swept by Georgetown College in three sets on Friday evening by scores of 26-24, 25-11, 25-9. The Bears fall to 5-11 on the season and 2-2 in the Mid-South Conference. Georgetown improves to 10-9 overall and 5-2 in MSC action.
Shawnee State went the distance with the Tigers in the first set, falling 26-24, but lost momentum falling in the next two sets, 25-11, 25-9.
Freshman Paige Zelich led the Bears' offense with 7 kills, while senior Shaye Berry and freshman Kelsey Bielanow added six each. Sophomore Hannah Gephart dished out 19 assists to go along with nine digs. Sophomore Kirsti Yates led the defense with 10 digs.
Shawnee State travels to St. Catharine today. The conference match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
