L. Todd Eastham is the Assistant Track and Head Throws Coach at Shawnee State University, where he brings decades of coaching experience and elite-level athletic insight to the development of shot put, discus, hammer, weight throw and javelin athletes. Throughout his career, Eastham has coached numerous collegiate All-Americans and high school state qualifiers and medalists, showcasing his ability to mentor athletes at every level.
Eastham’s own throwing accomplishments are a testament to his expertise and commitment to the sport. He has earned All-American honors in discus, shot put, weight throw, super weight, and the ultra weight pentathlon, and has represented Team USA at the 2019 NCCWMA Championships in Toronto, where he earned four bronze medals. This extensive experience — both as a coach and competitor — gives him a unique edge in preparing his athletes for success, blending real-world athletic insight with years of technical coaching.
His coaching philosophy is rooted in the principles of discipline, fundamentals, and continuous improvement. Eastham works with athletes not only to enhance their physical performance but to cultivate mental toughness, resilience, and leadership.
