Huber was named Shawnee State's outside linebackers and defensive ends coach in August 2026.
PRIOR TO SHAWNEE STATE
Huber, born in Glen Este, Ohio, grew up in the Cincinnati area and was active in local football from a young age.
Huber graduated from Glen Este High School in 1979 before serving in the U.S. Army from 1979-82.
After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1990, Huber joined the newly formed Mount St. Joseph football staff as the team's defensive line coach for its inaugural 1990 season.
Huber spent 10 seasons in this role under head coaches
John Pont (1990-92) and
Ron Corrandini (1993-99). As a head coach, Pont earned back-to-back Mid-American Conference (MAC) championships with the Miami Redskins (now RedHawks) in 1957-58 and a Big Ten championship with the Indiana Hoosiers in 1967. Pont was the first athlete in Miami University history to have his jersey retired, with his football No. 42 retired immediately after his senior season in 1952.
In 2000, Huber was appointed as the third head football coach at Mount St. Joseph University.
Huber inherited a program that had collected a 23-44-2 record over the previous seven seasons.
After posting a 7-23 record over his first three seasons at the helm from 2000-02, Huber led the Lions to the first winning season in program history with a 6-4 finish in 2003.
Over the next three seasons, Huber helped lead Mount St. Joseph to records of 10-1, 9-2 and 9-2, while securing three consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) championships from 2004-06.
In 2009, Huber led the Lions back to the top of the conference with a 9-2 overall record and a perfect 7-0 mark in league play, earning the program's fourth HCAC championship in six seasons.
Huber remained the head coach at Mount St. Joseph until his retirement following the 2026 campaign. In 17 seasons, he compiled a 106-69 overall record and a 79-41 mark in conference play, along with five NCAA Division III playoff appearances and four HCAC championships.
In 2023, Huber was inducted into the Mount St. Joseph Hall of Fame.
