PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Shawnee State (6-9, 1-2) defeated West Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1, Friday night at Waller Gymnasium.

Set 1

Shawnee State won the first set, 25-19.

Set 2

The Bears won the second set, 25-20, to extend their match lead to 2-0.

Set 3

West Virginia Wesleyan bounced back in the third set, winning 25-16 to force a fourth set.

Set 4

Shawnee State closed the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set, taking the match, 3-1.


Bears by the Numbers

Kaylee McInnis led Shawnee State with 11 kills in the match, while Katelynn Boerger added 10. McInnis also paced the Bears with 12 digs.

Jalynn West dished out a season-high 38 assists. The junior leads the Mountain East Conference with 428 assists this season, 70 more than the next-highest total of 358.

Camille Hall recorded four blocks, and leads Shawnee State with 57 on the year.
