Shawnee State women's soccer vs. Cincinnati-Clermont (Monday, Sept. 8, 7 p.m., Shawnee Turf); SSU women's soccer at Michigan-Dearborn and Rochester Christian (Thursday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 13)
Â
Having been in each of their four contests this season, the Shawnee State women's soccer program (1-3) will look to finish the job this coming weekend in a trio of matches that will be critical to establishing momentum prior to the Bears entering conference play in the final weekend of September.
Shawnee State enjoyed an excellent effort at Shawnee Turf in a 5-0 win over Union (Ky.), one in which
Haynna Addy scored two goals in the opening eight minutes of competition.
Annie Coriell,
Anna Sas and
Lucie Ashkettle each added in goals of their own in the victory. Addy added in another goal for the week in the Bears' scant 2-1 setback to Georgetown (Ky.) Saturday afternoon.
Addy, who leads the team with three goals this season, has 18 career goals while Ashkettle, who has 11 career goals, and Coriell, who has eight, have two goals each themselves in 2025.
Cincinnati-Clermont sits 1-3 on the year after scoring a 2-1 victory over Indiana-Columbus Wednesday evening, while Michigan-Dearborn is 0-4 and Rochester Christian 2-1.

Shawnee State men's soccer (3-1-1) vs. Cincinnati-Clermont (3-1) (Friday, Sept. 12, 6 p.m., Shawnee Turf)
Â
Playing Cincinnati-Clermont in their own nonconference matchup against the Cougars, the Shawnee State men's soccer program will look to continue its early season momentum in a contest that will be played Friday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. at Shawnee Turf.
Seven different players have already scored a goal for Shawnee State in the Bears' first five matches of the season, including
Marco Riva,
Alfie Maynard,
Nikos Pontikis, Belo Bitencourt, Theo Trindade,
Esau Chavez and
Alex Kennedy. Riva, Bitencourt and Shawnee State sophomore goalkeeper
Toby Forsythe have already claimed River States Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors for the Bears -- with Forsythe's 21 saves and a stout 1.01 GAA heading up a fantastic defensive output on the SSU backline.
Cincinnati-Clermont is led by former Shawnee State men's soccer alums Avery Patton (head coach) and Seph Webster (assistant coach).
