Having already clinched a 20-win season for the first time since 2012, the Shawnee State volleyball program can match the most victories for a season by any SSU volleyball squad since 2010 if the No. 7-seeded Bears can score a River States Conference Quarterfinal victory over No. 2-seeded Saint Mary-of-the-Woods in a RSC Tournament match that will be held at the Jeanne Knoerle Sports and Recreation Center in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
FRONT ROW
Shawnee State (21-11, 10-6 River States Conference) has been led by a balanced offensive attack all season long, led by three players who have amassed over 220 kills in
Katelynn Boerger (241 kills, .217 attack percentage),
Whytney Faulkner (226 kills) and
Bree Hicks (224 kills). From a defensive perspective on the frontline,
Camille McIntosh leads the River States Conference with 39 solo blocks (10th nationally) and has 78 total blocks to lead Shawnee State, while Boerger (69 denials),
Natalie Reida (56 stops) and
Camille Hall (38 blocks) have all been effective in that area.
From a setting standpoint,
Makaela Lovely (462 assists),
Reagan Lewis (375 dimes) and
Cally Carpenter (308 tallies) have been effective at getting the offensive involved, while
Megan Steele (614 digs) and
Ava Jenkins (346 dives) have been huge for the backline all season.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (29-5, 12-4 River States Conference) finished as the RSC Runner-Up and scored a 3-1 win over Shawnee State back on Oct. 11 in Portsmouth, but lost three straight matches in conference play to end the 2025 season.
