Last week, SSU League of Legends took on the University of Kansas as part of their cLoL season play. The Bears fought hard during the three-game match but fell 1 – 2.
Game one was a 28-minute loss for the Bears, who earned 8 eliminations as a team. Half of those eliminations were credited to PoYun Kuan (gamertag: ONAD). The other two were split between Aaron Allen (gamertag: Turtlestrike) and Chase Minor (gamertag: ArcticWolf), who had two each. Brandon Reed (gamertag: SenpaiAtTheDisco) plays true to his role as support, earning the most assists on the team at five. Dustin Simpkins (gamertag: Breadlofe) trails closely to his teammate with four assists.
The second game saw a win for the squad. This game was a massively different story for the Bears as they'd earned 35 eliminations as a team, along with an astonishing 97 collective assists. Top eliminations went to Allen, whose 13 led the entire game as Swain. Reed claimed roughly a quarter of the team's assists as Rakan, with 25 to his credit. Allen also led the team in opponent damage, with 47,456 to his name. He trailed only 500 damage from the overall leader.
The Bears looked to continue their momentum from the second game but were unable to earn the crucial second win. This 25-minute game saw 13 eliminations from the Bears—equal to the total one player had on the opposing side. Five of SSU's eliminations went to the mid laner, with Allen claiming the top spot once more. Reed's support role continued to shine as he claimed top assists again. This time, he earned seven. Fewest deaths went to Minor, who only fell three times in the final game.
League of Legends will return on February 10, with a 4:00 match against Northwood.
