Last night, SSU Overwatch took a tough 0 – 3 loss to University of Missouri – Columbia as part of NACE season play.
Game one took the Bears to Lijiang Tower, where they struggled to gain control of the point. The first round was a 0% to 100% loss, followed by a closer 81% to 100% loss. Leading the team on outgoing damage was Gaberiel Martinson (gamertag: Happy). The tank player led the SSU side with 7,429 damage as Ramattra. He led the overall game in mitigated damage as well, with 12,919 mitigated. Top healing went to Logan Betz (gamertag: DotBetz), who healed 9,003 damage as Baptiste.
Game two took the Bears to one of their stronger maps, King's Row. The squad attached first and claimed the initial point early on. They had claimed roughly half the distance to the second objective but stalled before capturing it. Missouri was able to complete their push and won the map 1 – 2. Martinson led the team on damage once again, but Benjamin Palmieri (gamertag: Bas1lisk) and Gavin Jones (gamertag: Zephyr) earned top elimination cred this game. Both players were credited with eleven each. Betz held top healing overall once more, with 12,709 as Baptiste during the 10-minute game.
The final game was on Suravasa, where Zach Ellis (gamertag: FireRaptor) took over on DPS as Zach Smith (gamertag: zsmitty2020) stepped out of the game. The Bears took another 0 – 3 loss as Missouri completed the sweep. Ellis earned top outgoing damage for the SSU side with 5,452. Martinson led the Bears in eliminations again with 12 to his credit on Junker Queen. Betz claimed top overall healing went to Betz a third time after he healed his teammates for 6,328.
Next up for SSU Overwatch is another NACE season match. The Bears take on Akron at 7:00 PM on February 27.
