Rocket League Sweeps Bearcats

Monday night, Shawnee State Rocket League faced off against the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. The Bears were coming off of a great tournament weekend and planned to keep the ball rolling in NACE. They succeeded, sweeping the Bearcats 3-0 and extending their undefeated season in NACE.

In typical Bears fashion, the team did not hesitate in the first game of the series. They earned 6 goals throughout the game and prevented the Bearcats from scoring, winning 6-0. The teamwork was on point this game as PJ Fiscus (gamertag: Fisci25), Dyllan DeBruyne (gamertag: Duckworth), and Zach Ellis (gamertag: FireRaptor) each got 2 goals to open the series.

Game two was still fast-paced, with the Bearcats getting a breakaway on the kickoff to earn their first goal. It was quickly answered 20 seconds later by DeBruyne. The Bears then scored 3 unanswered shots to take the lead before the Bearcats grabed the last goal of the game. The Bears win game two 4-2, extending to a 2-0 lead overall. DeBruyne had the most goals at 2.

The final game of the night was the slowest of the three. Neither team scored any goals until 2:37 when, thanks to a pass from Ellis, DeBruyne finds the back of the net to open the game. Less than 20 seconds later, DeBruyne finds the last goal of the night from a breakaway. Ending game three 2-0, the Bears sweep the Bearcats 3-0.

The Rocket League team will be back in action October 16th at 7pm against Thomas College.
