Tuesday evening, Shawnee State traveled to Circleville, Ohio, to take on the Trailblazers of Ohio Christian University. The Bears went up and took three straight sets from OCU.
SSU started early on with a kill from Bethany Colling, that got the Bears on the board early. The two teams bounced points back and forth and the game was tied at four points apiece. Then the Bears went on their first run of the game as they scored nine of the game's 13 next points with kills from Haidyn Wamsley, Megan Steele, Kylee Barney, and Colling, while also Regan Lewis and Wamsley picking up a block on the OCU attack. The Trailblazers scored three points in a row to cut the deficit to two points, but the Bears followed it with their own run scoring 12 of the final 16 points in the set.
The second set was a battle till the very end as the two teams did not let the other grab a commanding lead to steal the victory. Down 15-16, the Bears rattled off three straight kills from Steele and two from Lewis, and an error on the OCU attack led to a Trailblazer timeout. After the timeout, the Bears capitalized on OCU errors and added their own kills and a block to seal the deal on set two. The third and final set of the evening was a repeat of the first set as Shawnee had their runs and the dominant performance sealed the 3-0 victory.
