Another Sweep for Rocket League

On Monday, SSU Rocket League earned their fourth sweep of the season. This time, they earned a clean 3-0 win over Montgomery County Community College.

Game one was a 2-0 win where the Bears maintained an aggressive offense and the ball spent most of its time on the Mustangs' side of the field. Between all three players on the SSU roster, there were 16 total shots. 7 of these shots were from Matthew Boldman (gamertag: Zioht), 6 were from Zach Ellis (gamertag: FireRaptor) and Kevin Keller Jr. (gamertag: Quiet) attempted the final 3. Two of these shots hit their mark; one from Ellis and one from Boldman, assisted by Ellis.

Game two saw more back-and-forth than the first, where the Bears conceded only one goal for a 3-1 win. The squad started off strong, with Keller claiming an early goal assisted by Ellis. After a lengthy stalemate lasting most of the game, Boldman nabbed a goal of his own that was also assisted by Ellis. After conceding a goal to the Mustangs, Ellis ended the game with a goal of his own, this time assisted by Boldman.

Game three saw the Bears finally be tied with their opponents for the first time. Ellis kicked off the game with a quick goal assisted by Boldman, the Mustangs answered back to tie up the game. The tie was short lived, as Ellis claimed another point for the Bears, once again assisted by Boldman. After several demolitions were traded between both teams, Boldman and Ellis confirmed two more goals, with an assist going to Ellis as well. Just before the end of the game, Montgomery County Community College grabbed one goal for the road. The Bears won the final game with a score of 4-2 to close out the match.

This continues SSU Rocket League's undefeated streak in NACE, currently with a record of 4-0. They'll be back on October 3 with another NACE match, this time against Iona College.
