Last night, the Bears fell 0-3 in a tough season opener against St. Clair College.
Game one was hardpoint on Tuscan. The Bears held an early lead, but were outpaced by the Saints and unable to recover control of the game, falling 66-250. Austin Clark (gamertag: AyeC) claimed the most objective time for the squad, with a minute's worth of points to his credit. Clark and teammate Kevin Ralph (gamertag: WhiteChicken) tied for most eliminations on SSU's side with 14 for each player.
Game two search and destroy on Desert Siege showed some fight left in the Bears, where they fell with a score of 4-6. After the teams traded defensive wins, SSU nabbed the first win on the attacking side for the match. The game remained a one-for-one toss-up until the end. Freshman Levi Clay (gamertag: slittle) played the objective role in this game, with the only 2 plants from SSU to his credit. Ralph earned the most eliminations for the squad, with a total of 7 across all rounds.
The final game, control on Berlin, was another tough loss for the squad. After a struggle to defend in the first round, the Bears were seconds away from a strong second round comeback. Despite an impressive 7 elimination streak from Ralph, the squad was unable to complete the comeback. After a difficult third round, the Bears fell for one final time to end the game, and match, with a score of 0-3. Ralph once again brought home the most eliminations for the SSU side, this time claiming 18 from the Saints; 9 of which were while attacking or defending the objective. Clay held the second highest objective eliminations with 3, while Michael Verdes (gamertag: Ernesto) and Clark tied with 2.
