Shawnee Represented on Academics: Rhoads claims her Fourth Straight First Team Honor

Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon were busy times for the Mid-South Conference as they announced all of the end-of-season honors for volleyball before the conference tournament opened up Thursday. The MSC would announce the academic awards, the Champions of Character, and the season honors.

Wednesday afternoon, the MSC announced the All-Conference team, and the First Team had a familiar name on the list. Macie Rhoads claimed her fourth straight first-team bid after an incredible season where she would tally 303 kills, 239 digs, 31 blocks, and 16 aces. On Senior Day, the fifth-year senior would break the 12-year career kill record.

The Academic All-Conference also announced Tuesday that the Bears volleyball team would show representation as nine lady Bears would find themselves on the list for their academics. Returners to the list are; Emilee Cochran, Bethany Colling, Darian Fiesler, Kayla Haemmerle, Alli McQuay, Nashail Shelby, and Rhoads. The Newcomer for the Bears was Sophomore Olivia Fliehman.

Senior Abbie Kallner was not also a part of the Academic All-Conference team. She was also named the Bears Champion of Character for the season. Her hard work and leadership that she has brought not only this season but last season as well.
