Rocket League Continues Sweep Streak

SSU Rocket League has continued their undefeated streak in NACE seasonal play with another 3-0 win against Iona College on Monday. They are now 5-0 in matches and 15-0 in individual games for the NACE season.

Game one began in an explosive fashion, with each side scoring a goal within the first 10 seconds of play. The first point for the Bears was earned by PJ Fiscus (gamertag: Fisci25) assisted by teammate Kyler Taylor (gamertag: Doc). After a lengthy back and forth between the Bears and the Gaels, Zach Ellis (gamertag: FireRaptor) broke through to break the tie thanks to another assist from Taylor. Once the unit gained momentum, the lead grew. The game ended with a score of 4-2 in favor of the Bears. 3 of those goals were credited to Ellis, with one to Fiscus's name. Taylor assisted his teammates on every single goal in game one.

Game two, a 3-2 win, started much slower, with the Bears earning the first goal nearly a minute into play. Each SSU goal was answered with one from the Gaels, creating an overtime situation. At the end of standard play time, the game was tied 2-2. The Bears weren't kept their cool, and took a game-winning goal after only 8 seconds of overtime. All three goals on the side of SSU were credited to Ellis and assisted by Taylor. Fiscus aided the offense with a demolition early in the game.

The final game ended in a 4-2 win for the Bears, but didn't start off in favor of the squad. The Gaels took an early first goal, which went unanswered for nearly two minutes. Once SSU earned a goal, they quickly nabbed three more to ensure their lead. The match ended with a last-minute point from the Gaels to lessen the score differential. Fiscus and Ellis were credited with two goals each in this game. Taylor assisted each of his teammates once, for a total of two.
