Shawnee State junior tennis players Claire Carruthers and Jacob Freeland were named to the respective Mid-South Conference Champions of Character teams that were announced for men's and women's tennis, as announced by the conference Wednesday evening.

The duo, both three-year members of the Shawnee State tennis program to date, each hold GPAs well north of 3.8 and were appropriately named to their respective Academic All-MSC units as a result. Each player has been a consistent top-three rotational piece in singles in doubles, with both players suiting up as high as No. 1 doubles during their time at Shawnee State.
