Wednesday night's MSC Volleyball battle of the Bears went Shawnee's way. Scarberry's Bears (16-8, 5-7) continued their solid play taking care of Pikeville (4-22, 2-11) 3-0. SSU jumped out to an early lead in the first set and never looked back. After forcing an early UPIKE timeout SSU continued to extend their lead eventually taking the first set 25-16.
The second set was tight at the start. However, the SSU Bears would extend the lead in the middle of the set. SSU would take a 2-0 set lead after winning the set 25-15. The Bears steady play continued into the third set as well. Shawnee dominated the third set to finish out the victory for the Bears. Overall the Bears had a balanced attack enroute to a dominating victory.
The Bears are back in action Saturday, October 23rd at Campbellsville University with a 2:00 PM start.
