Four tennis players tabbed Academic All-MSC

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Tennis) – Four members of the Shawnee State tennis team earned Academic All-Mid-South Conference honors, conference officials announced Wednesday.

Nicole Harmon (FR/Shelby, Ohio), Kendi Kistler (FR/Chillicothe, Ohio), Kanessa Snyder (FR/Gallipolis, Ohio) and Shelbie Wulfekamp (SR/Maysville, Ky.) each took home the awards, which are offered to student-athletes throughout the conference who have maintained a grade point average of at least 3.25 and have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

Harmon, an athletic training major and Shelby, Ohio, native, led the squad with a 3.97 GPA. Fellow AT major Kanessa Snyder – a Gallipolis, Ohio, native – achieved a 3.51 grade point average.

Kistler, a Chillicothe, Ohio, native and art education major, notched a 3.58 GPA, while SSU's lone senior, Shelbie Wulfekamp, a Maysville, Ky., native and fine arts major, landed a 3.43 mark.

The SSU tennis team is in action Thursday, facing off against Campbellsville University in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Championships. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m. in Bowling Green, Ky.
