GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Women's tennis saw its season come to an end with a 6-0 loss to No. 21 Campbellsville in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. The Bears were awarded the No. 7 seed away a three-way tie for sixth place in the conference standings, earning them a first round date with second-seeded Campbellsville.
The Tigers started off strong and never looked back before the match was called with three remaining matches on court after Campbellsville had clinched the team victory. In the doubles competition, the No. 1 team of Kyra Keeton and Shelbie Wulfekamp were the only duo to earn a game for the Bears as they fell 8-1 in the top slot.
Campbellsville then solidified its victory by allowing just two games in the singles portion of the competition. The Tigers picked up three defeats by identical 6-0, 6-0 margins at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 singles. The Tigers also had a 6-0, 5-0 lead at No. 6 before the match was called.
Keeton and Boggs were the only two players to win a game in singles play. Keeton played the top spot in her final collegiate match and fell in the opening set by a 6-1 score. She was trailing 3-0 in the second before the match was stopped. Boggs moved up to No. 3 for this match and had the exact same score as her No. 1 teammate before being called off the court.
