COLUMBIA, Ky. – A day after notching its first win of the season in convincing 9-0 fashion, tennis had the tables turned completely against them Sunday afternoon with a 9-0 loss to No. 4 Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders swept both the singles and doubles matches as each of the nine contested matches were played as eight-game pro sets.
In doubles, Shawnee State's top pairing of Kyra Keeton and Karley Stites were the only duo that were able to pick up a game against their Blue Raider counterparts before falling 8-1. The No. 2 and No. 3 positions each went to Lindsey Wilson by 8-0 finals.
During singles play, the Blue Raiders were bullet proof as they did not surrender a game in any of the six positions to wrap up the 9-0 team victory.
Tennis will return home on Tuesday as the Bears host Pikeville on the William E. Daehler Tennis Center Courts. That match will begin at 3 p.m.
