TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Throughout his Shawnee State cross country career, SSU redshirt sophomore
Isaiah Lanoy has been nothing short of a speed demon.
Following up a 2024 campaign where Isaiah ultimately claimed a 68th place finish to post a time well inside the top quarter of the field while leading Shawnee State in the event, the terrific harrier from Lancaster capped off his fantastic 2025 season with a bang -- finishing 47 spots above his 2024 placement to nab a 21st place finish and claim NAIA All-American honors as one of the greatest and latest SSU runners to come onto the national scene, highlighting the performances from the Lanoy triplets (Isaiah, Kaiden, Trevor) at the 2025 NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship, which was held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
From the outset,
Isaiah Lanoy enjoyed a terrific performance -- as the redshirt sophomore, who sat 83rd at the opening 1,200 meters of the race, rocketed 60 places up the leaderboard over the next 2,000 meters inside the top 25 after running two strong split times of 3:00.4 at the 2,200 meter mark and 2:39.1 at the 3,000 meter mark -- rising to 23rd as a result.
Lanoy never dropped below that placement for the remaining 5,000 meters of the race, notching split times of 3:08.6, 3:06.1, 3:17.2, 3:11.8 and 3:10.2 in succession to finish with a 25:00.8. The Lancaster product's time put Isaiah in the top 6.5 percent of finishers of the 323 runners that officially crossed the tape.
"Just a great day by
Isaiah Lanoy," Shawnee State Director of Cross Country and Track and Field
Conner Flynn said. "Isaiah and I discussed in August that his goal should be to be an All-American, and maybe even shoot for a Top 20 finish. To see him place 21st and earn his first All-American honor is an amazing feeling. All the work he puts in has paid off, and that's special to see."
Fellow brothers Kaiden and
Trevor Lanoy weren't too shabby themselves with their own performances -- as
Kaiden Lanoy finished well inside the top 40 percent of the field by running a 26:07.4 to finish 127th overall while
Trevor Lanoy ran a 26:50 to finish 220th overall. Both Kaiden (highest place at 86th in the race) and Trevor (highest place at 100th in the race) were in the top-100 at one point.
The finishes completed yet another successful week for each of the Lanoy triplets, who not only qualified for, but finished, each of their eight individual qualifications in the NAIA National Championship Meet.
"These athletes showed why this is a great program to be a part of, and that we will not settle as we continue to push forward," Flynn said. "Beyond all times, I am proud of each of the Lanoys and so thankful that I continue to have the ability to work with them every day."
